Paris Hilton’s Mars (how we assert ourselves) is in Pisces (enhancing her glamour). Although Mars in Pisces may not at first seem aggressive, hers is in direct opposition to his Virgo Sun. Watching Paris for President, the “flyboy” must wince every time she refers to the “old man” in this short. Her Venus in Aquarius is inconjunct his Neptune/Venus in Virgo and he seriously underestimated her reaction to his reference. His Mars in Leo is conjunct her Moon/North Node, which will always trigger an emotional response when attacked. Senator McCain, if you want to stay in the race, follow Reagan and get yourself an astrologer!

But Hilton does not come across angry in the tape; still she uses it for her own agenda, self-promotion and no mistake, promoting Obama.

Her reasons for indirectly promoting Obama, by trumping the absurdity of McCain’s statement are certainly obtuse. Hilton could potentially be a powerful figure of great influence in a positive way,  if she can break free from the compulsions of her privileged upbringing. But that’s another article. Right now I’m looking at her connections to Obama’s chart, her Leo Moon/Node conjunct his Sun. This silly little video blasts McCain and as a result supports his opponent.

Paris is burning hot, but in a cool, detached, madly Aquarian way. Ouch! Take that… you old man McCain!

An Aquarian moon would be close to her Saturn (discipline) which supports the self-sufficient attitude she seems to exude.  An Aquarian moon indicates a person who analyzes emotions and has the ability to detach; if her moon were in Pisces, she would be harder to read. Both Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush have Pisces Moons (and Scorpio Suns!) yet for Mrs. Bush it has not been an issue. She speaks with compassion and some degree of guardedness. But she is not someone who puts herself out in roles that make the public distrust her agenda. She is primarily a wife, mother and homemaker and works within that identity to the satisfaction of the public.

Hillary always strode outside those roles, and her stride became wider when the opportunity of First Lady was hers. The elusive quality of her water Sun/Moon make people question who she really is.  A quote in February 2008 from Michelle in reference to Hillary as a possible VP to Obama on  Good Morning America: “I’d have to think about — policies, her approach, her tone.”

If Michelle’s moon is in Aquarius, it would connect with the US moon. Her ability to understand the people can be very keen. She seems to be quickly assessing and recalculating, much as a GPS figures out where to go when the route changes. As she reigns in her natural unbridled intelligence, she is now modeling herself after the more-measured Mrs. Bush. I don’t foresee it would be at the cost of her identity; she is simply steadying herself for the climb.

Her North Node (karmic destiny) is in Cancer which is on the US Sun. If her moon is in Aquarius it amplifies the potential of what she could do with the First Lady role, especially for children and America’s self-sustainability. More to come!

The time may come when even celebrities keep this information close to the cuff. But I think we’ve arrived at the time when an astrologer’s ability to forecast an election will only be as good as his/her rectification (ability to estimate the birth-time through research) skills.

Looking ahead at the Inauguration 1/20/2009 chart set for noon (which has been the date/time since the 20th Amendment), many may view the Scorpio moon as “void of course”. This means the moon is making no geometric aspects in the sky to any planet before it leaves its sign. However, many astrological text, including some by the great William Lilly, suggest that if the moon is “applying” (heading toward) a planet soon after it enters the next sign, then the “VOC” does not hold. The reason astrologers avoid a “void of course” moon for an event is it is unlikely the outcome will be as desired.

Of perhaps greater concern is the fact the moon is in Scorpio on 1/20/09 at noon, which is said to be in its “fall” (Scorpio moon natives internalize their feelings and present a cool demeanor because it’s so difficult for them to trust). This would indicate the public would be wary of the new president.  If could also indicate loss and betrayal. If it is true that people with political power are paying attention more to astrologers, it’s possible for the inauguration to be delayed until 12:30 pm. I’m sure the spin-doctors can dream something up. The US would be much better served by a president who begins with a Sagittarius moon in place. Although it’s very unlikely the president elect would admit that was why the time was changed.

However, if the inauguration does occur at noon, the astrology indicates a presidency that will not fulfill its promise.

Regardless of the correct time, Obama’s horoscope suggests the illusive paternal role model. This is seen in the Sun square Neptune. Obama has said the Reverend Wright has been like a family member to him. His recent announcement that he is leaving his church casts him away from his spiritual anchor. If the chart with the Patry time is accurate, this gives him Aquarius rising. Since Uranus is conjunct his North Node, he would be very much identified with the “rebellious son”. But cleaving from Reverend Wright and his church does not smack of rebellion, it seems more about sadness.

Any PM time for his birth gives him the moon in Gemini, which is challenged by a transit from Saturn. When Saturn transits the moon, a person experiences a sense of not having his needs met. He can feel very limited (and no doubt, this guy is living in a fish bowl).

It’s interesting how a vociferous public seems to have forced Obama and his family to cleave from his church. He alone knows if this decision has been his own out of growth or one he has felt compelled to make. What is essential during a Saturn/Moon transit is to integrate the “father archetype”. In other words, he must be his own man. This certainly is necessary if he is going to be the next president of the US; we don’t want more of the same.

Nonetheless, some may question the strength of a man who changes his spiritual loyalty at the brink of a nomination. Because in spite of all the brouhaha, we know many Republican leaders have been happy to side with zealous ministers. Obama has been called “untested”, but the Saturn screws are tightening.

I would also guess with a Moon/Pluto square possible in his horoscope, he is no stranger to emotional power plays. Although his past allegiance pulls, it looks like he’s made a decision to separate from voices that may not speak with the temperance of his own. I hope he sets aside time for prayer and reflection to find his way to the spiritual refreshment his soul needs, because he cannot afford to be conflicted about his decision. Any Gemini moon reading this knows the cost of a decision only half-made.
